This is a project that is very dear to me. Over the last five years I have developed this method for teaching jazz improvisation because I am not satisfied with the other options that are currently available.
In these chapters you will find everything you need to learn to improvise great-sounding jazz solos.
Each chapter of TJM uses the same five-section formula. The first section, “Why,” introduces the concept of each chapter and why the material is important. The section called “Explanation” follows after that and describes the actual concept of the chapter using a combination of videos, text, written musical examples, and audio. After digesting the material from the “Explanation” section, use the section called “Practice” to get a detailed description of the most effective way to practice and master the concept. Test your new-found knowledge with “Drills” that quizz you on the material covered in the chapter. Each chapter ends with a section called “Transcribe,” which contains a transcription assignment relating directly to the chapter.
